This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how RevivApp (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Company”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information of users (“you”, “your”, “User”) of the RevivApp mobile application (the “App”) and any associated services (together, the “Services”).

By installing, accessing, or using the App and/or Services, you agree to this Policy in addition to our Terms & Conditions.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

 
1. Scope and Jurisdiction

This Policy applies to all personal information collected from Users of the App, including through mobile devices, in-app interactions, our website(s), and any connected services.

RevivApp is a Canadian-based company and this Policy is drafted under Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”). PIPEDA embodies Canada’s fair information principles governing how private-sector organizations must handle personal information.

If you access the Services from Ontario (or elsewhere in Canada), relevant provincial privacy laws may also apply (e.g., PHIPA in Ontario for health-related data).

If you access the Services from outside Canada, you are responsible for complying with your local laws.

 
2. Definitions

“Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual (e.g., name, email address, device identifiers, wellness or mental-health–related information, location data).
“Usage Data” means aggregated or non-identifiable data relating to how the App is used (e.g., logs, interactions, analytics).
“Account” means registration information used to access the App’s features.
“Third-Party Services” means service providers integrated into our App (e.g., analytics tools, payment processors, hosting providers).

 
3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We may collect personal information when you:

  • Register for an Account (e.g., name, email address)
  • Create or modify your profile (optional demographics, wellness preferences)
  • Engage with in-app content, journaling, assessments, or communications
  • Subscribe or make payments (payment information stored by third-party processors)
  • Contact customer support


3.2 Device & Usage Information

We may automatically collect:

  • Device type, operating system, unique device ID
  • App usage logs, interactions, crash data
  • Analytics data through third-party providers
  • Location data (only if you explicitly enable it)

3.3 Cookies, Tracking Technologies & SDKs

We may use cookies, mobile SDKs, and similar technologies to improve functionality, analytics, and user experience. Third-party integrations may also collect data according to their own privacy policies.

 
4. Purpose of Collection, Use & Disclosure

We collect and use your personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the App
  • Enable Account creation and authentication
  • Process payments or subscriptions
  • Communicate with you (updates, support, notifications)
  • Generate personalized insights or guidance

We may disclose information:

    5. Consent & Withdrawal

Your use of the App constitutes consent to data collection and processing as described.
You may withdraw consent by:

  • Disabling optional features (e.g., marketing, location tracking)
  • Managing device/app settings
  • Deleting your Account

Withdrawal may affect your ability to use certain features.

 
6. Limiting Collection, Use, Disclosure & Retention

In accordance with PIPEDA, we:

  • Collect only information necessary for identified purposes
  • Use/disclose information only for those purposes unless consent is obtained
  • Retain personal information only as long as necessary
  • Destroy or anonymize data when no longer required
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of personal information where needed
     

    7. Storage, Security & Cross-Border Transfers

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Data may be processed or stored in Canada or other countries.
Where data is transferred outside Canada, we implement safeguards such as contractual protections to ensure equivalent levels of privacy protection.

You acknowledge that foreign laws may allow access by law enforcement or national authorities.

 
8. Access, Correction & Account Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold
  • Request correction of inaccuracies
  • Delete or close your Account (subject to legal retention requirements)

Upon account deletion, we aim to remove personal data within 90 days, unless laws require longer retention.

Requests may require identity verification.

 
9. Use of Minors

The App is not directed to individuals under 18.
If we become aware that we collected information from a minor without proper consent, we will delete it.

 
10. International Users & Third-Party Links

If you use the App outside Canada, you are responsible for complying with local privacy laws.
We may include links to third-party services whose privacy practices we do not control.
Social logins or integrations may share information with third parties.

 
11. Analytics, Advertising & Cookies

We use analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics) to understand how the App is used.
Analytics data is typically aggregated or anonymized.

Advertising or marketing communications are provided only with your opt-in consent.
You may disable cookies or tracking via device/browser settings.

 
12. Automated Decision-Making & AI Transparency

RevivApp uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized insights and recommendations.

  • AI outputs are informational only
  • Not medical or diagnostic in nature
  • Not a substitute for professional advice
  • Users may request information about how automated systems operate

This section supports compliance under emerging Canadian AI regulations (AIDA).

 
13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Updated versions will be posted in the App or on our website with a revised Effective Date.

Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of updates.

 
14. Breach Notification & Non-Compliance

If a security breach poses a real risk of significant harm, we will:

  • Notify affected Users
  • Notify the relevant privacy regulator
  • Document the breach investigation

We investigate privacy complaints and take corrective actions as required.

 
15. Additional Provisions for RevivApp

  • The App provides wellness-only information and does not provide medical or mental-health diagnosis or treatment.
  • Sensitive personal information (e.g., mental-health reflections) receives heightened protection and limited access.
  • Third-party professionals (if applicable) are independent providers; RevivApp is not liable for their actions or advice.
     

    16. GDPR/UK Users – Legal Basis for Processing

If you reside in the EEA or UK, we process your information under the following legal bases:

  • Consent
  • Performance of a contract (e.g., accessing Services)
  • Legitimate interests (App functionality and security)
     
    17. Openness Principle

We make our practices relating to personal information management publicly available through this Policy and other documentation upon request.
